Get ZRA Smart Invoice compliant — without the pain.

Built for any business that invoices

This is already the law

Mandatory

Electronic invoicing via ZRA Smart Invoice is required for every VAT-registered business in Zambia (SI No. 58 of 2023).

Since Jan 2025

Only invoices issued through Smart Invoice qualify for input VAT claims. Non-compliant invoices cost you real money.

Penalties apply

Enforcement began 1 October 2024. Compliance is not optional — but it doesn't have to be painful.

Everything ZRA requires

One system. Fully compliant. Actually usable.

Every flow ZRA tests for certification, built into an ERP your team will want to use.

Compliant sales invoicing

Tax invoices with QR code, SDC block, and every mandatory field — normal, LPO, and export sales. Consecutive, tamper-proof numbering.

Credit notes done right

Full or partial credit notes linked to the original invoice with reason codes — the flow auditors and accountants actually check.

Purchases from ZRA

Pull purchase invoices straight from Smart Invoice, approve or reject them, and update stock — plus capture from non-Smart-Invoice suppliers.

Imports (ASYCUDA)

Retrieve import declarations, approve or reject, and bring imported goods into stock with the right tax treatment.

Stock that reconciles

Stock movements transmitted as ZRA requires: adjustments in and out, stock takes, and item master sync with UNSPSC classification.

VAT reports & Excel export

VAT transaction reports and schedules exported to Excel in the format your accountant asks for at month-end.

Works when ZRA is down

ZRA's system down? Internet gone? You keep invoicing — Fiscari queues everything and transmits automatically the moment it's back.

Users, roles & audit trail

User-level access control and a full audit trail of originals and amendments — no edits or deletions after issue, as the law requires.

Compliance today, room to grow tomorrow

Most compliance software does one thing: issue invoices. Fiscari is built so the part ZRA certifies stays locked and untouched, while the rest of the system grows with your business.

So when you need something extra — a report your accountant wants, a way to track your deliveries, payroll, anything specific to how you work — we add it on top. Your invoicing to ZRA keeps working exactly as certified, no matter what we add.

Not our first invoice

The engine already runs real businesses

Fiscari's fiscal engine isn't waiting for its first customer — it already fiscalises invoices every day inside production systems we built and operate.

In production today

A poultry distribution network and a medical clinic issue ZRA-compliant invoices through this middleware daily — deployed, monitored, and supported by us.

Self-healing infrastructure

Monitoring services watch the ZRA connection around the clock, catch failed transmissions, resend them automatically, and restart what needs restarting — usually before anyone notices.

One sealed fiscal core

Every deployment uses the same version-pinned compliance library — the part ZRA certifies — so a fix or an upgrade lands for everyone, and custom work never touches it.

Switching is the easy part

Already "compliant" but fighting your system?

Many businesses grabbed whatever worked before the deadline — and now live with slow, clunky systems, double capture, and reports the accountant can't use. Moving to Fiscari is a three-step process.

1

Free setup review

We look at your current invoicing, stock, and VAT workflow and tell you exactly what migration involves — no obligation.

2

Parallel run

Your old system keeps working while we set up items, customers, opening stock, and branch devices. No downtime, no lost invoices.

3

Go live, supported locally

Your team is trained, you switch over, and support is a WhatsApp message to the developer in Lusaka — not an offshore ticket queue.

Smart Invoice questions, answered

What Zambian businesses ask us most.

Who must use ZRA Smart Invoice?

Every VAT-registered taxpayer in Zambia, under the VAT (Electronic Invoicing System) Regulations, SI No. 58 of 2023. Since 1 January 2025, only invoices issued through Smart Invoice qualify for input VAT claims and deductions.

What's the difference between the ZRA portal and a VSDC-integrated system like Fiscari?

The free ZRA portal means typing every invoice twice — once in your records, once for ZRA. A VSDC-integrated ERP issues the compliant invoice as a by-product of running your business: your sale, your stock movement, and your ZRA transmission are one action, not three.

Can I keep my current system and just add Smart Invoice?

Sometimes. If your current system works well, we can look at integrating it with the certified fiscal engine. If it's Excel or a system you've outgrown, Fiscari replaces it — invoicing, stock, purchases, and VAT reports in one place.

What happens when ZRA's system or the internet goes down?

You keep selling. Whether ZRA's system is down or your internet is, Fiscari keeps issuing invoices and transmits them automatically once ZRA is reachable again — as the Smart Invoice specification provides for.

How long does setup take?

A straightforward business — items, customers, one branch — is typically live within days. Migrations from an existing system depend on data quality; the free review gives you an honest timeline before you commit.

Who is behind Fiscari?
